Eclectic was the brief. Not clean lined or contrived, yet practical and easy to maintain. A combination of flat panel and step shaker doors give a modern, clean lined approach to this homestead kitchen. Traditional elements such as a plinth mould and cup handles were integrated with a slick, industrial floor tile, 70mm thick benchtops, a hidden, led light pelmet bulkhead. To avoid compromising storage in the main kitchen, a buffet and butler’s pantry were incorporated, with glass cabinets. This project was a rebuild, following the family’s home being destroyed in bushfire. The feature emerald green splashback is homage to emerald green benchtops in the original home – an evolution of memories into a new era.
